PRIVATE COOKING EXPERIENCES

Plan a Private Cooking Class with The Cooking Lab - either at our teaching space in Port Washington - or virtually on Zoom from your home kitchen - great for family and friend reunions or corporate outings and team-building events

 

VIRTUAL PRIVATE EVENTS:

Classes are 75-90 minutes, taught Via Zoom from our studio kitchen in Port Washington and meant to be interactive (of course, participants are also free to watch, take notes and ask questions).  We send out ingredient lists and Zoom info a week before so you'll have plenty of time to get ready!

RATES For VIRTUAL Programs (under 20 Screens*):


$275 for up to 6 screens/households 

$35 per screen/household thereafter

*For private virtual programs for 20 or more screens, the cost is a flat rate of $750, unlimited screens.

 

ADULT/FAMILY MENUS:

 

- Homemade Egg Pasta 101

- Homemade Ravioli (more advanced & labor-intensive)

- Hand-rolled Ricotta Gnocchi

- Seasonal Vegetable Risotto

- Empanadas (dough + filling - choice of beef OR spinach & tomato)

- Vegan Dinner & Dessert (chick pea flour and veggie frittata & blueberry pecan crisp with cashew cream)

- Authentic Paella de Marisco (seafood) OR Valenciana (chicken & vegetable) - Surcharge of $50 applies to seafood paella

- Basque Country Dinner (bistro-style chicken Basquaise, olive oil rice; salad with shallot vinaigrette)

- Spanish Tapas (pa amb tomaquet, potato & egg tortilla, shrimp al ajillo)

- Greek Chicken Souvlaki Dinner (incl homemade flatbreads, Greek salad & tzatziki)

- Mexican Fiesta  (Shrimp OR Chicken Tacos with guacamole, mango salsa & creamy red cabbage slaw)

- New Orleans Feast (Cajun Jambalaya and Sazerac cocktail)

- Dessert menus also available (e.g., French country chocolate cake  with crème chantilly; choux a la crème);

Private Event Terms & Conditions


A non-refundable deposit of $275 is required to reserve the date and time.  The remaining balance is due on the day of the event. If The Cooking Lab deems it necessary to cancel your event due to extreme weather or an unforeseen emergency, we will use every effort to reschedule your event within a reasonable time frame.

IN-PERSON PRIVATE EVENTS for Adults & Families:

Private classes for adults & families are 2 hours, taught in our kitchen in Port Washington and completely hands-on and interactive.

Our teaching space consists of eight (8) separate cooking stations that each accommodates two (2) individuals. 

Private Events typically have an 8-person minimum (except for Mon-Fri daytime - minimum of 6 required) and a 16-person maximum.  Please email us directly at info@thecookinglabpw.com for pricing and other info for larger or smaller events.


Please note that we are unable to accommodate menu or ingredient substitutions - if you have any questions about the menu or ingredients, please contact us at info@thecookinglabpw.com prior to registering.

RATES for IN-PERSON Adult/Family Cooking Classes:

 

Tues-Fri daytime (ends by 3 pm): $600 for up to six guests; $100 for each additional guest thereafter ($50 for each additional guest under 12 years old)


Tues or Wed evenings: $800 for up to eight guests; $100 for each additional guest thereafter ($50 for each additional guest under 12 years old)


Thurs & Fri evenings, Saturdays & Sundays and all Holidays:  $1000 for up to 8 guests; $125 for each additional guest thereafter ($50 for each additional guest under 12 years old)

Our private events are Two Hours long - a fee of $100 per extra half hour will be charged for events that run over the scheduled time frame

- Homemade ravioli (more advanced - 2.5 hour event - $100 supplement applies) with brown butter & sage 

- Handmade Cavatelli & Orecchiette (semolina dough) with garlic, anchovy & tomato sauce

- Hand-rolled Ricotta Gnocchi with brown butter, sage & tomato sauce

- Empanadas (dough + 1 filling - choice of spiced ground beef OR spinach & tomato OR chicken and sweet peppers)

- Vegan Dinner & Dessert (chick pea flour & veggie frittata and blueberry pecan crisp with cashew cream)

- Authentic Paella de Marisco (seafood - $25 pp surcharge applies) OR Paella Valenciana (chicken & vegetable)

- Basque Country Dinner (bistro-style chicken Basquaise, olive oil rice; salad with shallot vinaigrette)

- Spanish Tapas (pa amb tomaquet, potato & egg tortilla, shrimp al ajillo)

Private Event Terms & Conditions


A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the minimum base price is required to reserve the date and time.  The remaining balance is due on the day of the event using a single payment method. Please note that the deposit is nonrefundable in the event of cancellation in order to cover the loss of business and cost of perishables. 


If The Cooking Lab deems it necessary to cancel your event due to extreme weather or an unforeseen emergency, we will use every effort to reschedule your event within a reasonable time frame.


The final headcount for the number of attendees is due 72 hours prior to the event.  We plan for the event based on the number you give us at this time. Because we have to purchase perishable ingredients for the minimum number of guests you tell us, this is the number of guests for which you will be charged on your invoice.  Example:  if you confirm for 10 and only 8 show up, the final invoice will reflect charges for 10.  Also, please note that if you confirm for 10 and 12 show up, you will be charged for each additional guest.

IN PERSON KIDS' Birthday & Private Group Classes:

Our hands-on birthday and other private group kids' classes are 1.5 hours and designed for children ages 8 to 16.  Young chefs will prepare real food using fresh ingredients and essential cooking techniques and taste what they cook.   

 

Our teaching space consists of eight (8) separate cooking stations that each accommodates two (2) individuals. The maximum number of guests we can accommodate in our space is 16.


RATES for In-Person Kids Birthday & Other Classes:

 

$595 for up to 8 guests and $60 for each guest thereafter.

Birthday Parties are scheduled on Saturdays and some Sundays.  The available time slots are 10 -11:30 am / 1 - 2:30 pm / 4 - 5:30 pm

- Thai Chicken Coconut Curry (ages 10 & up)

- French Toast Soufflé with berries & whipped cream (ages 8 & 9)

**If your child chooses a dessert menu, we do not recommend bringing a birthday cake.  We will gladly put a candle in the birthday child's dessert creation.  This allows guests to fully appreciate the hard work they put into making their dessert from scratch. Please also note that we do not allow outside food such as pizza.
