About The Event

Sushi Workshop with Chef Take of "Nara"

Join Chef Take from Main Street's very own Japanese grocer, Tominaga Shouten - more commonly known to locals as “Nara" - for a beginners' sushi-making workshop. Guests will visit the market (directly across the street from The Cooking Lab at 169 Main Street) to source ingredients for the class and then learn the essentials of sushi-making at The Cooking Lab.

Guests will learn to prepare sushi rice, an essential step for any sushi-related dish; whip up spicy mayo; make basic sushi rolls such as California Rolls and Spicy Tuna Rolls; and finally, create their own original roll.

Class Duration: 2-2.5 hours
