Virtual Summer Cooking Camp
How Virtual Summer Cooking Classes Work
While we await news from the Governor about in-person summer camps, we are launching Virtual Kids Cooking Classes for the first part of the summer. Here’s how they work:
Each themed camp session meets once a week on the same day and time for four (4) consecutive weeks. Here's the schedule:
TUESDAYS - Bake Shoppe (four (4) consecutive Tuesdays: 6/23, 6/30, 7/7, 7/14)
WEDNESDAYS - The Italian Kitchen (four (4) consecutive Wednesdays: 6/24, 7/1, 7/8, 7/15)
THURSDAYS - World Culinary Passport (four (4) consecutive Thursdays: 6/25, 7/2, 7/9, 7/16)
You can register for the Early Morning session (9:30 am -11 am) OR the Late Morning session (11:30 am - 1 pm). Sorry, no switching times from week to week (so don't oversleep!)
Each four-week session is priced at $100 per household/screen (so siblings are welcome to cook together).
We are committed to keeping our virtual classes accessibly priced during these uncertain economic times. As such, there are NO REFUNDS after registration and NO MAKE-UPS for missed classes.
The classes are suitable for kids and teens ranging from 8-16 years old. If registering younger kids, parents must be prepared to supervise as we will be utilizing cooktops, ovens, and knives to prepare the recipes.
The Cooking Lab’s two founders - Michelle and Mat - each has three kids and knows from experience that kids can be fickle with their tastes. We also know that kids are more willing to try new foods when they’ve had a hand in preparing them. With that in mind, our kids’ classes are designed to foster creativity, encourage experimentation and build confidence and independence in the kitchen. We teach kids age-appropriate cooking skills and expose them to a wide array of ingredients and flavors with the goal of developing healthy eating habits and a willingness to try new foods.
