About The Event
RISING CHEFS - Grades 6-9 After School Cooking Class Series
In our Rising Chefs series, your child will build a repertoire of go-to recipes and learn hands-on techniques so they can begin to create their own recipes with ease. We’ll also cover how to shop for the freshest ingredients, basic meal prep techniques, how to use herbs and spices, plating techniques and more.

Cooking skills include:
Using all kitchen appliances including safely handling and cleaning sharp blades
Developing knife skills to efficiently chop, dice and mince
Baking more complicated yeast and pastry doughs
Making fresh pasta dough and using a hand-cranked pasta machine
Setting up a mise en place
Marinating foods
Cooking meat and fish
